White House financial adviser Larry Kudlow tried to calm markets after shares fell on Thursday in news of a predicted second wave of coronavirus, claiming that “there is no second wave”.

“I am not an expert in health, but in the so-called spike, I spoke with our health experts last night. They say there is no second pin, let me repeat it, there is no second pin. And that – Sec. “Mnuchin testified yesterday and I totally agree, we’re not going to shut down the economy,” Kudlow told Fox News on Friday.

Following fears of an increase in coronavirus cases, US stocks recorded their highest sales in three months. U.S. stocks rose on Friday.

However, Kudlow seems to contradict himself almost immediately, saying some parts are over – although he is quick to say that the Trump administration has manipulated them.

Kudlow continued: “What you have is that some points see a leap. Some small metropolitan areas see it. The CDC and the people of health are everywhere – some working groups have been sent to deal with it. You know, today, we have better equipment, much more experience, much better testing. I want to say that the test itself has gone up, so you will get a little more positive than that. But if you look at it nationally, the important point is that the rate of increase in new cases is between 0 and 1 percent. It’s really flat and in terms of deaths, it’s the same, it’s really lower than that, it’s like zero to half a percent. “

What we know about the virus: While new cases are not rising significantly, 19 states have been on the rise since Friday. In many states, Hospitals are also on the rise, an indicator of people who are seriously ill with Covid-19.

Kudlow also suggested that Dr. Deborah Birx – who was largely silent and away from cameras – could be seen on Friday, but it is not clear how or when.

“If I can calm the fears, I’m still not a health expert, Amb. Burg can be out and about later today. Nevertheless, there is no emergency, there is no second wave. I don’t know where it started on Wall Street, “he said.
