This story is part of it Apple event, the full coverage of the latest news from Apple headquarters.

On Tuesday, October 13, Apple makes one virtual event where we expect to take a first look at iPhone 12. While there were tons of credible rumors for new phones price, diopter and possible 5G capabilities, one of the most interesting features we have heard is one Screen refresh rate 120Hz – Double that of the iPhone 11. The hertz number that a phone screen can display refers to the number of frames per second, determining how fast and smooth the phone screen feels when scrolling through apps and web pages and how smoothly supported game feel is.

It is rumored that there will be four iPhone 12 models started on Tuesday: the iPhone 12 Mini (5.4 inches), iPhone 12 and 12 Pro (6.1 inches) and iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7 inches). Some reports say that the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will have a refresh rate of 120Hz, while the base iPhone 12 will have a refresh rate of 60Hz.

Most phones – including the iPhone 11 – have a refresh rate of 60Hz. But some high-tech models, including Samsung Galaxy S20 and OnePlus 8 Pro, have a rate of 120Hz, so it is not surprising that Apple would add it to its repertoire.

IPhone 12 Pro models are also rumored to have Apple’s proprietary ProMotion display, which can be found on iPad Pro models. This technology dynamically adapts the screen to the way content moves for faster, smoother scrolling.

Of course, we will not know for sure until the rumored iPhone 12 models are revealed on Tuesday (here how to watch Apple Event live). For more, take a look how to prepare your current phone before upgrading to iPhone 12 and anything else we can see Apple announcing at its virtual event.
