The Ravens, with the strength of their defense and running of the game, won the lead 17-7 against the Steelers visitors at halftime. The Baltimore trio of Lamar Jackson, Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins combined to run for 178 yards in the first half, while the Ravens defense kept Pittsburgh in just 64 yards in total.
In the third game of the game, Lamar Jackson, pressed by TJ Watt, threw an interception that returned 33 yards for a score by linebacker Robert Spillane. Jackson quickly atoned for his early mistake as he was linked with Mills Bockin for a 6-yard pass in Baltimore’s next possession. The Ravens started the second quarter with nine games, an 80-yard drive that ended with the Edwards trailer. Baltimore then set up a 15-game, 60-yard drive that created Justin Tucker’s 51-yard goal in the final game of the half. The Ravans lost three rookies in the first half: attacking straps Ronnie Stanley and Tiri Phillips in injuries and a defensive end to Matt Judon after he was sent off for contacting an official.
