Authorities said they could not confirm how many boats needed help or had sunk due to the overwhelming number of calls they had received.

The Austin-Travis County EMS also confirmed that it has not received emergency medical calls and is therefore not assisting the lake.

“ATCEMS has not been asked to respond to any of these. “If that changes, we will provide an update,” they said in a statement on Twitter.

The organizers of the event promoted the parade on Facebook, inviting Trump supporters and boats “of all shapes and sizes” to participate.

“Decorate your boats in patriotic colors and fly as many Trump flags as you can handle,” the post said.
