With the Packers and Saints working without their top receiver on Sunday night, the two teams have leaned on their backs and a large dose of short, quick shots. The lonely big game of the first half reached an absolutely beautiful play-action pass from Aaron Rodgers to Allen Lazard, which set a touchdown to Lazard later on. Rogers completed the first half 9 out of 16 for 104 yards and the score for Lazard, who like the big winner came up with an idea for the game.
For the Saints, Alvin Kamara did almost all the damage, transporting the rock four times for 56 meters and transporting seven passages to another 61 yards and a touchdown. Drew Brees seemed desperate to throw the ball down, preferring to control it over the targets. However, these smaller passes allowed the Saints to move the ball into a decent clip, and the last half really helped them to pull forward despite a difficult start. With just six seconds left, Brees found Emmanuel Saunders in the middle for Saunders’ first score as a Saint, putting New Orleans 17-13 ahead at halftime.
Stay tuned as we continue to watch the following celebrations live.
