Season four of the reality contest is currently taking place in the US and, in a first for the series, the Hollywood star removed his own mask before being instructed.
The wrestler Actor Rourke arrived in the second week before deciding he would have enough wearing Gremlin’s costume. He pulled the mask after the performance, which made him inadvertently leave the competition.
Host Nick Cannon tried to contain his surprise at the unpredictable turn of events, saying: “We have lost control. this is one MaskFirst – we did not manage to vote, the others did not come out. “
Following the revelation, Rourke severed all ties with the show by refusing to do anything.
Asked why he appeared on the on-air series, Rourke said he “liked the show” and “was in the neighborhood”.
He added: “I watched four episodes and they asked if I would be interested, so I watched all of them from the beginning.”
An open Rourke then played a performance of Ben E King’s “Stand By Me” next to Cannon.
Teasing his appearance in the first episode, which aired in September, a masked Rourke said: “Despite my checkered story, I can actually be quite charming. A true romantic. You may have heard that I can be a bit of a fighter. But I also have a fluffy side.
“I love all the animals, long walks on the beach and hitting worthy opponents with foreign objects for maximum impact. I also like to cook. Maybe you like what you see. I wish I had you for dinner. I mean, over for dinner. But first, I hug as I celebrate. “
Rourke’s acting credits include angel heart, Ball, Sin City and The expendable.
He also played the villain, Ivan “Whiplash” Vanko, in the movie Marvel Iron Man 2.
