Logitech MX Anywhere 3 reviews: the better gets the better

Logitech’s MX Anywhere 3 is the latest successor MX Anywhere 2S since 2017 and his little brother MX Master 3, one of the best mice. It is smaller, designed for travel and serves as an almost perfect little mouse for those who want to be a little more productive, either at home or on the go.

Logitech’s $ 99 MX Master 3 is the most famous for the fantastic scroll wheel, which the company redesigned last year with a new electromagnetic scroll system. Almost a year later, the $ 79.99 MX Anywhere 3 finally brings the same system to Logitech’s smallest business mouse.

The good news is that the scroll wheel makes the transition to the smallest mouse flawless, with the same ratchet and smooth scroll functions that offer unparalleled tactile response and let you flip through your pages or spreadsheets. The MX Anywhere 3 also lets you adjust the resistance if you prefer even more tactile comments.

Logitech says the battery lasts up to 70 days, an achievement I could not control since I only had it for a few weeks, but so far, so good. Charging is via USB-C and connectivity can be via direct cable, Bluetooth or with the Logitech Unite USB-A wireless dongle.

The design has also been modified on the new mouse, with the handle, the placement of the buttons and the shape changed so slightly that it is more comfortable to hold. It is pleasant to use. the side buttons are under my thumb for easy access.

The new model even offers the option of replacing one of the larger elements missing from the larger mouse: the lack of a secondary horizontal scroll wheel. While there is no side wheel yet, the MX Anywhere 3 lets you hold down one of the side buttons at any time to scroll horizontally using the main wheel. There are also some new software applications for specific applications in Logitech Options software, including the option to use these two side buttons as hotkeys to mute or toggle the camera in Zoom.

In fact, the only real drawback I encountered with the MX Anywhere 3 is that it is not the MX Master 3, which still offers a larger, more comfortable grip and this second scroll wheel for $ 20 more. And while the MX Anywhere 3 has the advantage of portability, it’s hard to recommend a portable mouse given the lack of travel right now.

However, if you prefer a more traditional = shaped mouse, you do not mind the missing scroll wheel or just prefer the smaller size (and price), the MX Anywhere 3 is hard to beat.
