It has been almost a decade and a half since then Continuing with the Kardashians changed the course of reality TV and its execution is finally ending in 2021 with season 20, as recently shared by Kim Kardashian’s star in a long post on Instagram.
Why now? Kris Jenner tried to explain the decision behind the end of the show, in a recent interview with series creator Ryan Seacrest.
Chris gave a rather simple answer, saying, “I think the number 20 sounds good by 2020, but the number 20, it just seemed like the right time.”
He looks forward to the opportunity to “take a minute and breathe well [for] all [to] slow down a bit. Not slowing down professionally, but … I understand what our next steps are. “
“We had to tell the crew yesterday, so we all cried.”
According to Kris, “Chloe … is probably the one taking the hardest part and she really hasn’t stopped crying since we announced.”
As for whether Kris has fully processed it, she says “she has not done it”.
“It’s funny when we talked yesterday, I had my mind set on myself and I thought I was very strong. And, you know, that’s the right decision,” Kris said. “Today I wake up and I was thinking the first time we did an interview on the air and I was so excited and so nervous.”
Chris finished calling Continuing with the Kardashians “The best domestic films we can ever produce,” he said, adding that he was “grateful for every moment.”
You can watch the premiere of its 19th season Continuing with the Kardashians September 17 at 8 p.m. in E!
