Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Connery has had an acting career spanning decades and has featured in many award-winning performances. He won the Oscar for Best Actor for his work the untouched in 1988 and won three Golden Globes. “I am saddened to learn this morning of the death of Sir Sean Connery,” said Nicholas Sturgeon, Scotland’s first minister. “Our nation today mourns one of its beloved sons.”
