The Lion Air Group, which also includes Batik Air and Wings Air, began slowly introducing short-haul routes on May 10. But the resumed flights did not last long.
The company announced that all routes have been suspended again since June 5 due to widespread problems with passengers who do not properly follow the coronavirus rules related to social distancing and health disclosure.
In announcing the decision, Lion Air emphasized its concern for the health of employees, especially the cabin crew, who were at risk of infecting passengers with coronavirus.
“Lion Air Group supports the government in its efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19 by actively participating in the implementation of health protocols established by the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Health and the Task Force,” the company said in a statement on June 3. .
So far there is no word on when these flights will be rescheduled. Lion Air offers a refund for passengers who have already booked their tickets, but so far does not allow anyone to make new reservations.
