“On Sunday, July 5, a report on Ghislaine Maxwell during Fox News Channel’s” America’s News HQ “accidentally deleted President Donald Trump from a photo with Melania Knaus, Jeffrey Epstein and Maxwell.” said a network representative.
A Fox News spokesman added, “We are sorry for the error.”
Maxwell was indicted by federal prosecutors in New York on Thursday for her alleged role in recruiting and abusing sex minors as part of a criminal operation for years.
Trump’s allies have forged ties between former President Bill Clinton and Epstein, sometimes sharing old photos in which they both appear, downplaying photos showing Trump and Epstein together. A Clinton spokesman said in 2019 the former president did not know “anything about the horrific crimes” committed by the convicted pedophile.
Trump’s appalling cut from Fox News’ photo has drawn criticism and caused endless media coverage for the conservative cable network. The photo was taken during a section on the Maxwell indictment by federal prosecutors.
This is not the first time in recent weeks that Fox News has acknowledged a significant error related to accompanying news photos. In mid-June, Fox News expressed its regret after posting digitally altered and misleading images of the “CHOP” demonstration in Seattle.
