Banksy shares new artwork supporting Black Lives Matter

Black Lives Matter protests have been spreading around the world for the past two weeks following the death of George Floyd, a black man killed in a U.S. police arrest on May 25. Banksy’s latest work was presented in Instagram post, depicts how Floyd’s death hit the United States.

The piece consists of a black frame with candle and flowers surrounding it. An American flag hanging from above has been lit by the candle below.

Along with the artwork, Banksy made his thoughts on systemic racism clear.

“At first I thought I should just shut up and listen to blacks on this issue. But why should I do that? It’s not their problem. It’s mine,” Banksy wrote in an Instagram post. from 2 million likes.

“People of color fail with the system. The white system. Like a broken pipe flooding the apartment of the people living below. The faulty system makes their lives miserable, but it’s not their job to fix it. They can »t, no one will leave them in the apartment upstairs.

“This is a white matter. And if whites don’t fix it, someone will have to come upstairs and kick the door,” he added.

Banksy donates new artwork in honor of hospital health workers

A protest on Black Lives Matter has taken to the streets of Bristol, England, on Sunday near where Banksy is believed to have been born. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.

During the protest, protesters removed a statue of the 17th-century slave merchant Edward Colston. Protesters were celebrating and celebrating the fall of the bronze statue, but police say they have launched an investigation to locate those involved.
